Are you A Brand-Conscious People?

When shopping or buying things, are you after the brand name or the quality of the things? People who only buy things made by  famous label and are much expensive are often called brand conscious and those people who buy things because of their high quality are usually called quality conscious. What about those people who are looking for inexpensive things to buy? Can we call them price conscious people? Or practical people?

What group of consumer or people you belong? Whenever I'm at shopping mall, I admired signature items,  especially when it comes to bags, clothes and shoes.  When they say signature items what comes in mind is the price, "too expensive" and "best in quality".  The question is, can I afford to buy? Or is my money worth?

I'm not against in buying expensive or branded things if we can afford it. The quality of signature items or branded things are proven of durability and/or high in quality,  unlike those unbranded, which are  low in price or cheaper one. But today's life especially if you're life is just like mine,  I'll choose to be one of those practical people. I'll prefer to have the important things first before signature things for myself.  Family first before branded things. Future first before expensive item. I would rather save my money first before buying too expensive things. Besides, there are things we can buy  inexpensive and still the quality was good.

How about you? How do you buy things most of the time?

  3. I rarely buy things but I prefer buying signature ones as they are durable and I love wash and wear mood... lol... no I am not joking I only have few things that's why I want them to be durable, not really that expensive but I just don't like China made items... I got pants two years ago and here I am still using, it's still my favorite, but I say 'rare'... you cannot see me buy things this month and then next month, once in a blue moon lol ♥♥♥

    1. Hi Prime, thanks for sharing! :) That's why signatures are expensive because of it's quality and added it's popular name on it.:) And why not buy it for yourself if you can afford it, right? Thanks Prime..:) Blessed day to you! :)

  4. I am not particularly fond of shopping and mostly it is out of necessity. But the choice varies depending on the product I am buying and the risk involved. I don’t care much about brands. What matters is the value that I would derive by that product and if it is equivalent to the amount I spend on acquiring it. I am very picky about what I want and I don’t like compromising on my tastes.

  5. I won't be a hypocrite. I love buying signature items, most especially shoes! Adik ako sa Chucks eh. hehe.. Butof course, pag meron naman akong makitang magandang item like blouses, skirts, pants, etc. na hindi branded, ayos lang. As long as comfortable sa katawan ko, no problem. :)

  6. I don't buy much really - I have enough things. But if I need something I am always looking at the price to be true and the quality. I can't put too much money in an item, it hurts otherwise - I always think how this money can be used differently or helpful for others, how some families live only with this amount by month.
But not everyone is the same and my sister is a brand - quality conscious 100%!
Stay well dear and thanks for another great discussion.

  7. I buy what I like and what I can afford.
If it has a name okay - but that wasn't why I bought it.
Of late I am broke so if I find quality at a good price I am fine with that.

    1. Hi Margaret, how are you? Thank you so much for visiting..:) I'm happy to have you again :) Hmmm, same here with me "broke" it's ok if it doesn't have the signature name of the brand as long as it's good in quality and affordable.

Thanks a lot Margaret! :) Wonderful day to you! :)

  8. I see your point and I agree with you, there are more important things first but, it happens to be that branded and expensive work together, so in order to buy something worth the money in terms on good quaility, then you have to consider. I always look at the quality, and if it's something I can't really afford, which in my case is almost all the time, then i try to look for something cheaper but not in poor quality. Not always succed in that but well. Great post!

  9. I don't go for branded clothes ate..I always look for the quality of any product that I buy..I won't mention the brand..but I bought a branded before which cost twice the prize of the other bags but after using it for a couple of weeks wahhhhhhhh..the zipper got detached..so then on I don't go for the brand of a product..not all branded products are that durable sometimes it is expensive because of the company name attached to it ;(

I go for quality and usually on the products I have already tested and used for a long time..I don't change a product easily..I stick on my own brand ;0

  10. Hi Sweetie :)

I enjoy quality items but not always the price tag that goes along with them. I label myself as a 'smart shopper'. One who looks for quality at a reasonable price. It's out there, if you're prepared for the hunt he he! Many people comment on the clothes that I wear, thinking that I paid a fortune for them but I didn't, so it makes my day lol! We live in very challenging economic times, so we must be smart with our finances as much as possible. Good topic, dear!

Hope you're having a *wonderful* day! Much Love :) x0x

  12. this is good.

    thoughtful and provoking entry.
as for me, quality is matter. wait maybe the price come first to be considered.
but then most of the time i tried and i really do practice moderation 'cos it is the best after all.

  16. I'm not really into branded attires and accessories except for jeans and a few other stuffs. The rest would be based on qualities and affordable prices. It all depends on whether we can afford or not. It's also good to go for branded products which are lasting. It all depends on the purse! :)

  18. mmmhhh... dunno where to place myself... But I guess I'll be in the unbranded coz most of my branded items are just gifts from people who can afford to buy them. I'm just lucky to be receiving I guess. Although I can't afford to buy brand new branded items, hey there's still the what we Filipinos love to call 'Wagwagan' or 'Ukay-ukay'. hehehe
And yes, of course, Poro para la familia (Everything for the family).

  19. For me, it depends on what the item is, I suppose. :) I don't really care about brand names for clothes, but -- for food -- yes! I kind of like to know who makes my food, LOL; I feel safer eating brand name foods because they're popular, and so you know many others are eating them with you.

  21. most of my items are signatured items... however, before i go any further, a signature item doesn't always mean they're "durable" sometimes you purchase it for the whim and status that it sells on the other hand non-branded items doesn't also mean that they are of low quality... there's a lot that you have to consider... is it mass produced? is it exclusive? where was it manufactured? what is its price range? so all these factors affect the quality of a product...

i for instance purchase signature items depending on what kind of item it is but i do not look down on certain "unbranded" ones that you know are of quality...i have had the local novo shirts that lasted me forever compared to a YSL shirt i have... it doesn't mean if it says gucci, it means they will last you forever... it doesn't really follow... common sense also tells us what materials are used and would it be adaptable to our lifestyle... say for example, you saw a particular brand of shoes and it says "pure leather soles" no matter how expensive that is, if you use leather soles on an asphalt street it's going to give way just as it's expected....

if i may add, if you want to get "signature" items, there's always a way around it, you can go online and look for "clearance stocks" or "overstocks" or "new old stocks" which can lead you to a lot of designer materials that do not have their complete packaging but are authentic...it may not be rock bottom cheap but you sure can get them at very low prices(when i mean low, that meant you can get a pair of sunglasses from fendi or missoni that would be around $200 and up at $10-$50)... but that of course do not come with all their designated packaging or if it does, they may not have the other few tags that should be with it... if the packaging matters to you most, you pretty much don't have a choice but purchase it straight from their outlets... after all, if you're keen with quality, you can distiguish a fake from a mile away.

  22. ...in addition to that... you also have to consider our weather condition... have you always wondered why some of the wealthy have an airconditioned storage room/temperature controled storage and why some of those bags you have that you spent a fortune for have their lining now all messed up and flaking? it's not that they are fake or anything... the materials do not fit our weather which is why they have to be moisturised and be stored in a cool temperature... so somehow you have to weigh things before spending, so the money you're spending for a thing you love most wouldn't be a tragedy
